“I paint the gallery and its display windows – I transform the white cube into a black box. Those who aim to pass the bouncer, those who aim to find out what happens inside my black box have to put on a white work overall. Inside the black box, the song “I feel love” by Donna Summer emerges in a variety of cover versions. Without asking for their consent, I screen images of all my friends of my Facebook account onto the bodies of the visitors. (…) I FEEL LOVE – the visitors become my workers, become the material of my artistic production.” Franz Wassermann

I FEEL LOVE, Prints

The print series I FEEL LOVE was created as part of a vernissage for which Franz Wassermann transformed the white cube of a gallery into a black box. Visitors who wanted to enter the black box were asked to put on white work suits. While various cover versions of Donna Summer’s hit “I feel love ” played in the background, Wassermann projected photos that he had copied from the profiles of his Facebook friends onto the bodies of the visitors. The artist then used the photos from this vernissage to create this series of prints. Franz Wassermann: “I FEEL LOVE, the exhibition visitors become my workers, the material of my art production.”
