DRESS CODE

For DRESS CODE, Franz Wassermann asks a Muslim woman of Turkish origin to choose fabrics from an Austrian draper´s shop which she would be prepared to use for her own clothing. In the following, these fabrics are used to create a traditional Tyrolean dirndl including a headscarf. Then, the artist asks a Catholic Tyrolese to choose fabrics too which she approves of as typical traditional dirndl textiles. Again, these fabrics are used to create a skirt, a blouse and a headscarf but this time according to the sewing patterns of the Muslim woman.
